joy division
ian curtis          not the "love will tear us apart" you're thinking of

let it be known that the first time i ever really gave joy division a listen was in London, where i met up with one of the greater minds of this decade, noam barshalom. so i credit the boy for introducing me to the band... and a lot more.

ian curtis killed himself in 1980 shortly before Joy Divison was going to tour America. they were becoming one of the most successful punk/post-punk bands in England.
the rest of the band went on to create New Order.
if these facts arent enough for you to check this band out, you'd better just stick to that Crazy Town in your c.d. player.
