More Swedes... they're coming in hordes, and there just isn't anything better. Unfortunately, they are all being lumped together with not only each other (The Hives) but every other band with a denim jacket and a "messy-chic" hairstyle.
Enter Blinside...
This band sounds like the would-be offspring of Tool and Incubus. Heavy, power packed melodies played by lead guitarist Simon compliment insightful lyrics that are either yelled with the same kind of power Brandon Boyd somehow manages to expel from his little body, or whispered with a maynard-like urgency by lead singer Christian.
It's unclear to me where or how this band was "discovered" but they've already accomplished some daunting tasks since having formed in 1994. The last couple of years have seen Blindside touring the U.S. extensively in order to promote their two previous albums, 1997's self titled release and 2000's "A Thought Crushed My Mind."
Somewhere along the way they met up with Sonny from P.O.D who (along with giving them some apparent fashion/hair tips), introduced them to producer Howard Benson. Together they released 2002's remarkably powerful "Silence," which will put these kids on the map sometime soon.
