id like to thank my friend and personal music advisor Matthew Patrick Ryan for introducing me to Archers of Loaf.
unfortunately, they disbanded in 1998 BUT front man Eric Bachmann went on to a solo career under the name of Crooked Fingers, which is a lot less punk and a lot more [...matt has just informed me that i may not ever, under any circumstances, use the term "emo" to describe this band - and probably any others that he happens to like - so im gonna have to wait and see what adjective Mr. Ryan comes up with....YES LORD, SEND ME YOUR INSTRUCTIONS, I AWAIT YOUR COMMANDS...] but nevertheless it is an INCREDIBLE project. Archers of Loaf is the kind of music you want to 1.drive really fast to 2. drink heavily with your friends to 3. tell everyone "hey, do you know Archers of Loaf?" so you look learned and well read in the music industry 4. dismember ex-girlfriends/boyfriends to - well you get the drift.
if you want to just lie down in a hole with the bottle and a pack of smokes, hoping and praying to whatever form of higher being you are still able to conjure up in your totally self-depreciating/depressed state, change the disk to Crooked Fingers and make sure your friends have removed any and all sharp instruments from your surroundings. oh, and you may need some hankies.
